Due to technical difficulties, this post is a tad late. But here is day 7 of the ’12 Days of Naughty made Nice’.
Wow. So excited everyone! I know I have officially been accepted into `the family’ at my work. The owner of the business let me make him a cappuccino this week! You have to understand that I often make fresh cappuccino for high-end clients and I am always getting compliments on how good I make them. I have tried to make my Italian boss a cappuccino/espresso for a YEAR! He always says ‘no, thank you’. My co-workers tell me not to take it personally because he doesn’t let anyone make him a cappuccino. Ever.
I’ve tried to unfold the mystery of how to do it. It’s like having a lock where you can’t find the key and you are searching for ways to unlock it. Trying to be creative. ‘If I were the key, where would I be’ (anyone else have parents who would say this when you had lost something as a kid??). Except in this case I would think ‘If I wanted a cappuccino like the boss, how could I get him to drink it?’ Anyways, a couple of times that I even just went ahead and made him one without asking if he would like one. His answer was always “No, dear”. This week he said ‘yes’ followed by ‘but don’t make the milk to hot’. Ahhhhh, I had discovered what it was about the milk temperature. I made it with tender lovin’ care – even drawing his initials in the foam, brought it to him and he drank it! And it only took one year to find the key that opened the lock!
Here is a wonderful way to start your day with a little zing! Skip the coffee and try this gingerbread “latte”.
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 tbsp hemp hearts
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ cup almond milk
- ½ tsp maca powder
- 1 cup hot water
- pinch of sea salt
- Place all ingredients in blender, blend until smooth and foamy. Enjoy!
